Working with SlashDB
When you navigate to the SlashDB homepage, you will the screen below:
Logging In
Click the Log In button. You will be presented with a login form with username and password fields for local accounts. If you have configured Single Sign On, you may see additional buttons to login with different SSO providers.
Once you have logged in, you will be redirected to the Data Discovery database list, with a menu on the left hand side of the screen with different links:
The menu sections are described below.
SlashDB Features
- Data Discovery allows users to explore and access the databases connected to SlashDB. Records can also be created or updated by authorized users or applications.
- Run Queries enables users to execute custom queries, this feature is also known as SQL Pass-thru.
Manage
These menu options are only visible to users with administrative privileges. Users with limited privileges may not be able to to see all the items here.
- SQL Pass-thru lets you create and configure custom queries for users to run.
- Database Connections lets you create and configure SlashDB database connections.
- Database Credentials lets you create and configure accounts and permissions for database connections.
- Users lets you create and configure user accounts for databases, queries, and administrative tasks.
- License displays the current license and lets you upload a new license.
Diagnostics
- Request Status displays the status of individual Data Discovery and SQL Pass-thru requests.
